NEW SINGLE “SHE’S A BIRD” AHEAD OF MOTHER’S DAY

If you’re here… you might be one of the first to know my little secret.
I have a very special release coming just ahead of Mother’s Day…and it’s a song I wrote for and about my mum — her life, her story, and her extraordinary strength.
Over the span of a lifetime, most of us will face hardship at some point. But my mum… she has carried more than most.
At 21, she lost her first fiancé. He was a fisherman who went out to sea with his father… and their boat never came back. They were never found.
A few years later, she met my father. I’ll let the song speak for that chapter…
But what I will say is this — she is a survivor.
When I was about 7, she met my stepdad John. We built a life together as a family until my early 20s…when we lost him too, to liver failure.
These are only fragments of her story. Just small pieces of a life that has known deep grief.
It would have been understandable for her to let it break her. But she didn’t.
She kept going. She worked hard. She chose to rise, again and again, even when life tried to keep her down.
Today, she is the Mayor of Port Lincoln.
And I am proud of her every single day
—not because of titles or achievements,
but because of who she has become despite everything.
I wrote “She’s a Bird” on the eve of her 60th birthday.
In 2025, I travelled to Tasmania to record it with Matt Fell…
and now, on Mother’s Day 2026, I get to release it into the world.
This song is for her. But it’s also for every woman who has carried pain quietly…who has endured, survived, and kept going when no one was watching.
Thank you, Mum, for trusting me with your story.
I pray this song — your testimony — brings hope, healing, and strength to anyone who hears it.
You’re a bird. May you rise above anything that tries to bring you down, and live your life fully, whatever that looks like to you... And may your wildest dreams become your reality. Thank you. I cant wait for you to hear it! You can Pre-save She's a Bird right now on all streaming platforms, and your pre-saves truly mean the world to independent artists like me. JO PAGE HONOURS THE QUIET RESILIENCE OF WOMEN IN NEW SINGLE “SHE’S A BIRD” AHEAD OF MOTHER’S DAY
“She’s a Bird” is a deeply personal country ballad written about the life of Jo Page’s mother, Diana - a tribute to the quiet resilience of women who endure, survive, and keep going, often without recognition.
Written on the eve of her mother’s 60th birthday, the song has evolved into a powerful reflection on strength, sacrifice, and identity. Released in the lead-up to Mother’s Day, it stands not only as a tribute to Page’s own mother, but to the countless women whose stories are carried quietly and lived loudly beneath the surface.
Drawing inspiration from the storytelling greats she grew up on — artists like Martina McBride, with songs such as “Concrete Angel,” “God’s Will,” and “A Broken Wing,” alongside the emotional depth of Brad Paisley’s “Whiskey Lullaby” — Page steps into that same lineage of narrative-driven country music. The kind of songs that don’t just sound beautiful but stay with you long after they end.
“Those songs shaped me,” Page says. “They made me fall in love with country music and the power of storytelling. She’s a Bird comes from that same place — telling the truth, even when it’s hard.”
Blending neotraditional country with a cinematic edge, “She’s a Bird” builds from intimate vulnerability into a soaring, emotionally charged release — where strength and softness coexist, and silence finally finds a voice.
At its core, the song carries a message that extends far beyond one story: everyone has a story, but not everyone is brave enough to tell it.
“Your story could be the key that unlocks someone else’s prison. Don’t be afraid to share it,” Page says. “People are watching — you might be the blueprint to someone else’s survival.”
“Free as a Bird” is the follow-up to Jo Page’s recent releases, continuing the momentum she has built over the past few months. Both “Fire in His Eyes” and “When We Knew Nothing” received strong radio support across the country, while also securing placements on Apple Music playlists including New in Country. Adding to this success, Jo was recently announced as a semi-finalist in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition in Nashville for her song “Fire in His Eyes.”
“She’s A Bird” will be serviced to radio on Monday 4th May and available on all streaming platforms Friday 8th May.
